Familial and social neighbouring networks are dwindling. They give way to individual and independent lifestyle. The reality as single senior citizens and youths who are missing their next of kin or their psychological parents is widespread. This way of life can lead to loss of contacts and thus to social isolation. Promoting the exchange and the cohabitation of different generations becomes more and more important in the face of the inevitable demographical change.
As it stands today there are few to no intersections in everyday life where seniors and youths meet let alone do something together. Interests, the pace and structure of the everyday life – to name a few – are often worlds apart. The intrinsic knowledge of these different generations asks to be discovered and disclosed.
Goals: Promoting the strengths and abilities of neighbourhoods. Reinterpreting public space as points of deeper exchange. Work at points of intersection of different social groups and integration can provide pre-emptive measures. Conditions: ... are readiness to discover new horizons, an interest in social developments and enjoying living together healthily. Generation – (Dance)Projects are projects which stimulate communication and social cohesion amongst the generations by way of physical exercise and developing a sense of «We» and «Us».
